About Clara

The belief that guides all of my work is that when we shine a light on the strength and raw beauty inherent in the process of physiologic birth, when we honor the inner power of mamas, and when we adequately care for postpartum families we foster individuals and communities that are honest, gentle, radical, and resilient. Communities that can change the world.

I've been fascinated by pregnancy, birth, and motherhood since I was a very young child.  I’ve always known that I wanted to work in the birth world; a feeling that was amplified after witnessing my very first live (non-human) birth while working on a goat farm.

As a doula, I am deeply committed to fostering an environment where expectant and new parents feel supported, empowered, and nurtured on all levels – physically, emotionally, and spiritually. My unique training in birth and postpartum care, lactation counseling, Ayurvedic postpartum care, yoga and continuing education in herbal medicine offer my clients the opportunity to experience a more easeful four trimesters guided not just by me, but by a deep listening to their own intuition. I hope that my care feels like a satisfying deep breath.
